Formed in 1978 by a 15-year-old Jarvis Cocker in Sheffield, Pulp endured years of obscurity before achieving massive success in the mid-1990s as one of the defining acts of the Britpop movement.
Their 1995 album Different Class, featuring the cultural phenomenon "Common People," made them household names and established Jarvis as one of Britain's most distinctive frontmen.
After splitting in 2002 and reuniting in 2011-2013, the band returned in 2023 via a cryptic Instagram video featuring lyrics from "This Is Hardcore." The current lineup features founding members Jarvis Cocker, Candida Doyle, and Nick Banks alongside Mark Webber and new additions including Andrew McKinney on bass.
