    German-born, Swedish instrument maker and folk musician, now living in Dalsland, Mellerud, born August 23, 1960. He has managed his own company 'Borduninstrument Alban Faust' since 1990. Faust is above all known for having further developed the Swedish bagpipe, also called pôsu. As a musician he has also been active as chairman and ensemble leader for Dalslands Spelmansförbund. In the summer of 2009, Alban Faust was awarded the Zorn badge in silver, which gives him the right to call himself national fiddler, or 'riksspelman'. He has also received the Dalsland Medal and Mellerud Municipality's Culture Prize.
