Recorded vaudeville blues duets with Liza Brown (a pseudonym for Ozie McPherson) for Columbia in 1929, the first two titles "were originally credited to Coot and McPherson in the Columbia files, but this was then crossed out. Liza Brown is name as Ozie McPherson on the Columbia Index Card. Ann Johnson may possibly be Coot Grant (Leola B. Wilson)." (Blues and gospel records 1890-1943, Oxford University Press, 1997, p. 589).
