Betty & Oswald

Betty & Oswald are an indie pop band from Sydney, Australia.

The band formed initially as a bluesy folk rock duo when Claudia Schmidt and Pete Sotiropoulos were living in a small apartment by the ocean in the south of Sydney. They were both extremely talented singers and instrumentalists, with Betty playing accordion, kazoo, megaphone and electric guitar, and Oswald playing guitar, stomp box, and a shaker and a tambourine strapped to his boots.

As their music evolved the idea for Betty & Oswald as a indie pop group began to form. Fast forward a couple of years and the band has changed vastly from its bluesy beginnings, the addition of bass and drums with Sammy Sudhakar and Harry Cramer heralding a new era for the band.

Their music evolved into indie dream pop with European folk influences.

The band disbanded in about 2018.
