Toured with Young Holt Unlimited in the early 1970s and the original road company of The Wiz.
Worked on a number of projects with Bryan Loren in the 1980s.
Established a songwriting partnership with Bob Thiele Jr. who enlisted Billy as a vocalist on soundtracks for TV shows such as Boston Legal and Sons of Anarchy.
Thiele went on to produce Billy's 2023 comeback album Billy Valentine And The Universal Truth for the revived Flying Dutchman label.
Brother of Alvin Valentine.
