    Charles and Barbara Burton, 1960 Booker T. Washington High School graduates, grew up in the Tulsa community. After graduating from Langston University, the couple relocated to Oklahoma City, where they developed the group, The Burton Band. Other members of the band include the son of Charles and Barbara, Tre on drums, Thom Theilen on bass and John Morgan on keyboards. Charles and Barbara are both Jazz Inductees of the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame edition from 2001.
