Polish jazz singer.
1954 - engaged by Zygmunt Wichary to sing in his band
Later was engaged to sing in State Jazz Ensemble Błękitny Jazz and Jan Walasek Jazz Ensemble
1956 - won First Prize at Sopot International Jazz Festival, Poland
1958 - won First Prize at International Jazz Festival Nep-Stadion, Budapest, Hungary
Toured alot in Hungary, GDR, FRG, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden.
Her greatest hits are „I can’t give you anything but love, baby” i „I’ll never say never again again”.
Carmen Moreno, despite the fact that she sang several decades, has recorded only a few songs for Polish Radio, and radio in Oslo.
2011 - "Singing Jazz" is her first Album (March 5th), where she sang with Anna Serafińska (her granddaughter) and Maciej Zakościelny
She was married with Jan Walasek.
Her father was from Mysłowice in Poland, and her mother was from Andalusia. They met in Paris and established the dance and acrobatic duo Los Morenos. Carmen spent her childhood on tour with parents and performed at stages in South America and Western Europe. She debuted in Nice at the age of 5 by dancing the Cuban rumba. She sang for the first time at the age of 7, at the Alhambra Theatre in London. The war put a stop to the good time when her father died during the war.
