Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, December 7, 1945 — Coyoacán, Mexico City, March 29, 1989. Mexican musician, composer and actor, leader of the group Chico Ché Y La Crisis. He studied the first semester of law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and also studied music there, hence his talent for playing a wide variety of musical instruments —especially keyboards and synthesizers, although since childhood he felt special affection for the saxophone (in "El Manicero") and the guitar.
His alias derived from the nicknames commonly used in Tabasco for his name, Francisco "Chico" and José "Che".
