In August '92 Marco Kehren started the band in the Netherlands as an one-man band but soon other members joined. They made doom/black metal with unique kind of vocals. Deinonychus were rumoured to be a Nazi band after the release of their "Warfare Machines" album, which deals heavily with themes of World War II. However, the band members have denounced such claims. Deinonychus is not connected to NS ideologies in any case. Deinonychus split up in 2008, but reformed to record another album in 2011.
