Between 1910 and 1913, Edmund von Strauss served as the principal conductor of the [url=https://discogs.com/artist/959901]Blüthner-Orchester[/url]. Under his direction, the orchestra produced one of the earliest recordings of [url=https://discogs.com/artist/294746]Wagner[/url]'s "Der Ring des Nibelungen" opera cycle, with the first act of Die Walküre recorded for the German label Staatsoper Berlin, featuring tenor Jacques Decker (Siegmund), soprano Erna Denera (Sieglinde), and bass Gustav Schwegler (Hunding). As a composer, Strauss primarily wrote songs and duets; his best-known work is Sechs Kinderlieder, Op. 9 (1907).
