"Ernie Chaffin was born in Water Valley, North Mississippi in January, 1928 . He recorded what can only be described as the most original music to come out of the famous SUN Studio. Sam Phillips must have heard and seen something great in Ernie to release 4 singles, this during the heydey of the major Rockabilly explosion in the South. Ernie's friend and manager Pewee Maddux was the main reason Ernie recorded at Sun and the man who saw the talent in Ernie and encouraged him to believe in what he was doing."
