Greg Reeves (born 1949 or 1950) is an American bassist, known for playing on the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young album "Déjà Vu".
Reeves began playing music as a young child and became a Motown session performer in his early teenage years, in the late sixties moved to Los Angeles along with his friend Rick James, it was there that he was invited to jam with CSN&Y and was then hired to perform live and as a session player, having performed with them at the [a=Woodstock Festival] in 1969 and on the album "Déjà Vu", was dismissed from the group by Stills in April 1970, he played on the Neil Young album "After The Gold Rush" and also appeared on other recordings. He then tried to record an album of his own but was not successful. From September of 1977 through April 1978 he spent time on a Mexican prison for drug smuggling. A few years later he did some production work for George Clinton, but then retreated from the music business and went back to school and got an associate degree in Mandarin Chinese at Coastline College in Orange County.
He also wrote the song "I've Got Your Number" which was recorded by Johnny Bristol and by several other musicians.
