    French horn initially, and tuba player & teacher. Born in 1941 in Leeds, UK - Died October 1987.

    In 1964, he went to London and went to work for the BBC Symphony Orchestra as Principal Tuba. He remained with them for two years and left to become a member of the London Symphony Orchestra as Principal Tuba for twenty years (1968-1987) and the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, who he remained with until 1986.
    In 1967, he married the mezzo-soprano Margaret Cable.
