Musician and producer originally from Asheville (NC, USA), since 1985 living in Chicago (IL, USA) where he played with Precious Wax Drippings. From 1991 till 1993 he played drums in Poster Children. He is best known as the drummer of Tortoise which he founded together with Douglas McCombs in 1990, when the band still was called Mosquito. Other bands in which he is/was active are Five Style, The For Carnation, Uptighty, Isotope 217 and solo projects A Grape Dope and U-Sheen.
