Swedish composer, born 1965. He is a sought-after and frequently performed choral composer enjoying popularity all around the world. A graduate of the Royal College of Music, Stockholm he was for over 10 years the music director of “Carmen”, one of the most prominent women's vocal ensembles in Sweden, which has led to many compositions for upper voice choir. In 2012 Mårten was elected to the Society of Swedish Composers (FST), around the time that he began in earnest writing for mixed voices. His first efforts, for the Royal Chapel in Stockholm and various German choirs, attracted the attention and then support of publisher Bärenreiter, for whom he now writes exclusively.
