Maximum The Hormone

About

Maximum the Hormone is a Japanese nu metal/hardcore punk band from Hachiōji, Tokyo. They formed in March 1997 as a The High-Lows cover band. Their lineup consists of vocalist Daisuke-han, drummer Nao, guitarist Maximum the Ryo-kun, and bassist Ue-chang.

Originally, their band name was written in Latin letters as "Maximum the Hormone". After founding members Sugi (guitar) and Key-yan (bass) left in 1999, the band name was changed to マキシマム ザ ホルモン, a transcription into Katakana, to reflect the member changes. However, over the course of the band's career, both versions have been used interchangeably.
