    Czech actor, puppeteer, playwright.

    Born March 16, 1927 in former Czechoslovakia, died July 2, 1996.
    Staff member of the Spejbl & Hurvínek Theatre in Prague since 1951, eventually alternating with Josef Skupa as the voice actor of marionette characters Spejbl & Hurvínek. After Skupa’s death in 1957, he became the theatre director until his death in 1996. During his active years, he has spoken the characters Spejbl & Hurvínek in as many as 18 languages.
