Ormsby Wilkins (b. 27 November 1950, Sydney, Australia) is an American classical and ballet conductor, best known as the music director of the National Ballet Of Canada (1990 to 2005) and American Ballet Theatre (since November 2005). He studied at the [url=https://discogs.com/label/482780]Conservatories of Sydney[/url] and [url=https://discogs.com/label/1942342]Melbourne[/url] and debuted as [url=https://discogs.com/artist/4873034]The Australian Ballet[/url] resident conductor in 1982. Wilkins moved to Europe the following year, working as conductor of [url=https://discogs.com/artist/1731476]Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet[/url] (currently "Birmingham Royal Ballet") and touring North and South Americas, Eastern Europe, Russia, Israel, and South East Asia. He conducted ballet premieres at Teatro alla Scala, Milano, Teatro alla Scala, Milano, and Teatro alla Scala, Milano, among other prominent venues. Ormsby Wilkins led numerous distinguished orchestras and ensembles throughout his career, including Philharmonia Orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, [url=https://discogs.com/artist/855061]The Royal Opera House Orchestra[/url], the Royal Swedish Ballet, The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra, and The Hannaford Street Silver Band.
