Born March 2, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - died September 4, 2022 in New York City, New York.
The novelist was known for horror stories, including "Ghost Story", "Koko", "Mr. X", "Interior Darkness" and "Shadow Land" - he also collaborated with Stephen King for the books "The Talisman" and "Black House". Also a jazz fan, Straub has written liner notes for several CDs.
