Pimp Juice

Influenced by blaxploitation & martial arts movies, disco, funk, Miami bass & hip hop, acid house, reggae and jungle, and just about anything with some funk or obnoxious element, Pimp Juice is the byproduct of Monk and producer/engineer Chris Hawkes. The genesis of Pimp Juice began in 1997 after repeated exposure to movies such as "Super Fly", "Black Belt Jones", and "Truck Turner". Subsequent attempts at rehabilitation failed, and The Monk relapsed into obsessive collecting of out of print movies while Hawkes relentlessly scavenged the record bins of local thrift stores. Both hope to eventually regain control of their lives someday, but in the meantime they are sonic janitors scrounging through your Momma's old record collection, flippin' the script on cut-n'-paste dance music funk fakers. With styles that range from shuffly hard house, sleazy disco, to funky breaks and drum & bass, Pimp Juice aims to give The People what they really want - hard, funky ass tracks in the most undiluted form possible!
