Ruth Wyand & The Tribe Of One is an American Roots musician. Ruth plays all styles of American music - Americana singer/songwriter, jazz, blues, piedmont picking, real country (not pop), and folk. Accompanying herself on foot percussions with intricate picking styles, alternating thumb bass, bottleneck slide, and a warm alto voice Ruth presents a soulful and engaging show. Ruth was a finalist in the 2017 International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN, won the Gamble Roger's Fingerstyle Guitar Competition and the South Florida Folk Festival's songwriting competition. Having honed her chops through decades of performances Ruth Wyand has blazed a trail for herself as an authentic performer, songwriter, and storyteller. Her music reflects the true soul and origins of American Roots Music. With a rootsy approach to songwriting, her songs encompass a broad range of Americana, blues, and jazz steeped in imagery and reality. Demonstrating guitar virtuosity with powerful fingerpicking licks, bottleneck slide, and a warm alto voice Ruth presents a mix of originals and well-crafted instrumental arrangements of classics ranging from Doc Watson, Nina Simone, Leo Kottke to Thelonious Monk.
