Sabine Akiko Ahrendt (b. 1980) is a German violinist from Rüsselsheim who currently lives in Cologne. She studied violin, contemporary music and philosophy in Berlin, Hannover, Budapest, and Frankfurt from 2001 to 2007. Particularly interested in multidisciplinary concert settings, Sabine often plays violin accompanied by electrical instruments and sound modulators, such as computer, synthesizer, whammy pedal, vocoder, etc.
Ahrendt had been performing with Ensemble Modern, MusikFabrik, Ensemble Ascolta, Ensemble Resonanz, ChorWerk Ruhr and other renowned European new music groups. In 2011, she joined Contrechamps as a permanent member.
