    Santiago Tomás Díez Fischer (b. 1977) is an Argentinian composer. He earned a degree in composition and choir conducting from the Catholic University of Argentina. Some of Fischer's notable mentors in Argentina and Europe were Jorge Sad, Rebecca Saunders, Denis Dufour, François Bayle, Yan Maresz and Philippe Leroux. In 2011, Santiago studied further with Chaya Czernowin, Steven Kazuo Takasugi and Amnon Wolman at Akademie Schloss Solitude. Other courses, master classes, scholarships and residencies he took include the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (2003), Akademie Schloss Solitude (2004), IRCAM - CURSUS (2009/2010), Centre Acanthes and Impuls Academy in 2011, and Akademie Schloss Solitude (2012).


    The composer's music has been performed and broadcasted in Argentina, France, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Spain, Austria, Portugal, Denmark, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Chile, and Peru. Diez-Fischer worked with various prominent contemporary ensembles, such as Dal Niente, Ensemble SurPlus, [a=TM+], Ensemble Cairn, and Trio Catch.
