Born on 25 November 1966 in Washington, D.C., U.S. She released ten albums between 1979 - 1990 (seven albums at Cotillion and three at Cotillion and then she retired from the pop industry, to devote herself to gospel music. She recorded her debut at the age of 12, produced by Van McCoy, from the second on up to sixth, Narada Michael Walden was her producer, on her seventh Michael Masser and in the Cotillion years, a variety of producers took hold like Kashif, John "Jellybean" Benitez, Steve Barri, Tony Peluso, Leon Sylvers, Brownmark, Vincent Brantley, Aaron Zigman, Jerry Knight, Ron Kersey, Lou Pace, Gordon Williams, Phillip Damien, Hubert Eaves III, Kenni Hairston, Trevor Gale and LeMel Humes. She released a whole album of duets with Johnny Gill (1986) and two more singles with him in 1989.
