The Four Temptations

Short-lived American doo-wop group formed in 1957 in Queens, New York City by Artie Ripp with some neighborhood friends. They released Cathy / Rock And Roll Baby, a self-penned 7" single in 1958 before they were dropped by their label because they refused to record songs written by other artists. The group disbanded shortly after. Ripp later went on to manage The Temptations and later became an important music industry executive.
