With Bobby Mitchell, he also formed a record label, Autumn Records (3) and production company Cougar Productions, which produced releases with Freeman, The Mojo Men, Sly Stone and The Beau Brummels among others.
Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 (Non-Performer).
