    Toño Quirazco

Born on April 22, 1935 in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. In 1955 was studying medicine at UNAM and formed the "“Conjunto Musical Preparatorio” but due to ill-health returned to his home town; switching to engineering in 1958 he was part of the Orquesta de Ingeniería and from 1959 to 1962 he directed the Orquesta Electrónica Preparatoria del Colegio Preparatorio de Xalapa. His passion for music led him to form a new group with young people from the region and move to Mexico City, where they were signed to Orfeón and had great success with the Ska phenomenon. Once this started to lose popularity, and due to further health problems, Toño Quirazco left music, returning to the city of Xalapa, where he served as director of "State Theatre" of this city, until his passing, aged 73, on October 25, 2008.
