    Élodie Sablier

French Classical Pianist Born and raised in Provence, Elodie Sablier exuded passion for romanticism and classical piano at a very young age, inspired by her grandfather. Her French upbringing included significant exposure to classical and contemporary paintings, sculpture, music and books which formed her inner sensitivity. Elodie pursued music composition and performance with distinction in the Conservatoires of Lyon and Paris, and then jazz courses at the Conservatoire of Valence. She held frequent piano solo recitals in Europe, while also composing for silent movies and cartoons, including live representation in cinema festivals. Moving to Sydnet, Australia in 2008, Elodie continued to hone skills in composition and performance, while discovering new inspiration for her music in the Australian landscape and among Australians. Elodie has performed concerts in many venues in Australia, including The Basement, Foundry 616, Sound Lounge, Bennetts Lane, The sydney opera House, and Melbourne Recital Centre. Elodie's debut Australian album Vertigo was released successfully in late 2013. Her compositions are regularly aired on ABC Classic FM, and her album has been CD of the week at 2MBS FM and 3MBS FM and ABC Triple J Unearthed. Elodie has also begun to collaborate more widely, particularly in the realms of art and music. Inter alia, Elodie held a successful collaboration project with painter Paul Thomas for a series of portraits of the World's Greatest Composers (which adorns City Recital Hall, Sydney). She has recently composed film scores for a recently released movie "The Last Goodbye" (directed by award winning film maker Samantha Rebillet) and "Generation A", an inspirational documentary about education in Afghanistan by Jasmin Kozowy. Elodie’s willingness to extend the collaborations across mediums, and particularly between Music and Cinema, has lead Elodie to focus more on composing, and often to play live on inspiring extracts of movies she wishes to musically illustrate. Elodie has released two more alums: Silent Bridge (December 2014), also recorded in Australia, and back in France, Graine de Sable (Grain of Sand) June 2017.
