Zakhar Bron (b. 1947) is a Russian violinist and prominent music educator of a Jewish descent, People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2001). He studied violin with [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/805635]Boris Goldstein[/url] at Gnesins Music School and Igor Oistrach at Moscow Conservatory. After graduating in 1971, Zakhar Bron started working as a teaching assistant at the Conservatory. He received the third prize at the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in 1977.
In 1989, Bron moved to Germany and started working as a professor at Musikhochschule Lübeck. He had been working at Musikhochschule Lübeck since 1997 and Zürcher Hochschule der Künste since 2002. Zakhar also gave lessons at the Musikhochschule Lübeck in London, the Musikhochschule Lübeck, and Musikhochschule Lübeck in Madrid.
His notable students include Vadim Repin, Gwendolyn Masin, Daniel Hope, Maxim Vengerov, Vadim Gluzman, Daishin Kashimoto, Tamaki Kawakubo, Mayu Kishima, Soyoung Yoon, Christoph Seybold, Denis Goldfeld and Natalia Prischepenko.
