    Orchestra was founded in 1969 as the Leningrad State Concert Orchestra (Ленинградский Концертный Оркестр = Leningrad Concert Orchestra).

    In 1992 the orchestra was renamed and became a St. Petersburg State Orchestra.
    In 2013, by decision of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg, the orchestra was actually disbanded. Part of the team went to the new St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, headed by Sergei Stadler = Сергей Стадлер since 2013.
    The rest of the group founded the "continuing traditions" collective of the "Petersburg Concert" Variety Symphony Orchestra named after [url=https://www.discogs.com/ru/artist/1634117]A.S. Badkhen[/url].
