About

Danish group, formed in 1959 as The Strangers by Torben Brint (bass guitar), Kjartan Lauring (lead vocals, electric guitar), Carsten Elgstrøm (lead guitar), Ole Weng (vocals, electric guitar) and Claus Mikkelsen (drums). Changed name to Five Danes in 1962 when recording their debut single.

In January 1963, Lauring and Elgstrørn reorganized the group with Peter Gregers (rhythm guitar), Ole 'Sir Henry' Bredahl (bass) and Leif Davidsen (drums), with Gregers soon replaced by Morten Rude Mortensen.

The group disbanded in spring 1964, after which Bredahl, Elgstrøm and Davidsen formed Sir Henry & His Butlers. Lauring later played in Skilfinger (1976-1985), and has since worked as an architect.
