60 Hertz Project

60 Hertz Project is a live band of musical production team formed in June 2009 from a township called Ga-Rankuwa, South Africa, Pretoria. The project’s musical focus is on Jazzy House, Deep, Broken Beats, Lounge, Afro and Soulful House. The team consists of a fusion of musicians and producers. The band’s captivating, high-energy performances takes audiences back in time as 60 Hertz Project blends musicianship, creativity and tradition.

Members of the project include Siphiwe Daniel Kumalo "SDK" (Composer/Pianist), Gosiame "BlackJean" Maodi (DJ), Happy "CavoDeep" Raphiri (DJ), Cromwell "Cromy" Modungwa (Percussionist), Kamogelo "Sir KayMor" Tshabangu (Bassist/DJ).

60 Hertz Project was chosen to showcase at the KZN Music Imbizo 2018, which took place at Moses Mabhida Stadium (Durban). The band did perform on major events such the Ekurhuleni Music Festival, North West Jazz Festival, Corporate events and at the Weddings. 60 Hertz music has been featured on major radio stations like Metro FM, Motsweding FM, Lesedi FM, Vuzu TV, Channel O, Deeper Shades Of House (online).

60 Hertz collaborated with an international producers/duo band called Dolls Combers on a masterpiece called "Mother Earth Calls Italy EP" which includes tracks by both bands signature sounds, and We have also featured artists such as Francesco Briganti (FastVisionSoul) through GOGO Music Record Label, to produce another Hit called “Tapta Beach” with remixes by Manoo, Trancemicsoul and BlackJean & Marvin K. The Pta of Tapta is the abbreviation for Pretoria the Jacaranda city. Both “Capricorn & Tapta Beach” have been compiled by the Legendary DJ Christos (Katsaitis Music,RSA) on his album ”DJ Christos-Magic Sessions Vol.2” and also on Ralf Gum`s “Various Artists Gogo Music 10th Anniversary collection vol.IV – ~Visions of Musicians” album.’
