About

69 Segundos guayaquileña band born in 1998, integrated in its beginnings by Iván Casanova (second guitar), Andres Peña (first guitar) and Samuel Cárdenas (voice) had influences from groups like Bad Religion, Pennywise and Millencolin, but in those times they had no bass player or drummer, after some auditions they knew the group Agente 86 and Mario Jácome (bass and voice) and Andrés Jiménez (drums) of Agente 86 acolyted them, but Samuel had to go out for differences of ideas, then Ivan went to singing and they met the Carlos Andrés Perez (drums) and Diego Perez (bass) and so they started playing until Andrés left the group and Diego replaced him and Gustavo Meza (chubaca) entered the bass but went to the USA, then entered Thomas Maldonado of REK and Iván acolyted REK on guitar but then the 2 left the groups and again 69 Segundos was left without bassist.

Later, Giovanni Norero, ex-trumpeter of Agente 86, came out, but Carlos Paredes also left, but as he left for Germany, Christian Nieto, former member, entered of Sk-Van and so on to this day. This great band is considered the pioneer of melodic hardcore in Ecuador and they have gained great ground in the Guayaquil scene with their melodies where they fuse punk, hardcore and heavy metal achieving very good results with lyrics that deal with life's disappointments to strong criticism against the society that we are trying to oppress.
