Nu Metal Band from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA. 9th Corner is breaking into the music scene with force! The band is youthful and energetic with each members focus exclusively on writing and playing music. 9th Corner incorporates an entirely new style in an effort to fuse together the hip-hop, rap and rock classifications of music into one genre. Packing out local venues, the bands stage show is a popular one using their energy and many stage props to keep the crowd entertained. Over the next few months, 9th Corner will be unleashed into the studio to lay tracks for their debut album "Stranger Than Fiction" with an expected release around the 1st of August 2004. Subsequently, the band will gear up for a tour of regional venues in support of their new album. While in the studio they will continue to play locally. Vocalist and frontman SJ (Jimmy Charlton) and guitarist Paul DeMarchis knew each other for four years in high school before realizing that their common interests in music would send them on an unstoppable path. The two held auditions and acquired the necessary piece that would mold 9th Corner into the finely tuned music machine they are today – Tim Merrill, aka DJ Aksident. The three have since bonded through their music and after three years of writing and playing together are ready to make their mark on today’s music scene. The average age of the band is 22 years old, with an average 7 years band experience per member. With each of them being capable of playing from one up to three instruments other than their own – the possibilities are endless! As a whole, the band attributes its musical influences to bands like Mindless Self Indulgence, Deftones and Linkin Park; and individual artists such as DJ Kiljoy, Stef Carpenter and Chester Bennington. The band also agrees that if they could share the stage with any one of their musical influences, they would share it with Illnino. 9th Corner’s time is now! They are a force to be reckoned with in the current and future music arena.
