Afrobombas is a side-project created by Jorge dü Peixe. It features Lula Lira, the daughter of Chico Science - the main head behind the manguebeat movement. The band, however, has little to do with manguebeat and du Peixe's Nação Zumbi or Los Sebosos Postizos. Instead, Afrobombas' sonority draws influences from Afro-rock, soul, psych-funk and Jamaican music.
