    Danish hornist, born 1937 in Copenhagen, Denmark, living and working in Gothenburg, Sweden, from the mid-1950s.


    He started with the horn in the Tirol Band at the age of twelve. He studied with Knud Sørensen in Copenhagen, Franz Gerstendörfer in Salzburg and Gottfried von Freiberg in Vienna. Albert Linder has been principal hornist with many orchestras: the Mozarteum Orchestra in Salzburg, the Süddeutscher Rundfunk in Stuttgart, the Berlin Radio Symphony, the Durban Symphony, and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra: since 1960 he has been principal hornist with the Göteborgs Symfoniker; he also teaches at Musikhögskolan Gothenburg. He has won first prize in the Concours International d'Exécution Musicale in Geneva and he has appeared as soloist in 15 countries all over the world, including Japan, USA, Canada, South Africa and in Europe.
