Alberto Giordano

Alberto Giordano (b. 28 January 1961, Genoa) is an Italian luthier, maker of violins and other bowed stringed instruments, as well as a distinguished scholar and researcher active in Genoa since 1987. He serves as an official expert for the Genovese Court of Law and the Chamber of Commerce. In 1994, Giordano became an assistant curator responsible for the preservation of the renowned [url=/artist/6058721]Guarneri del Gesù[/url] 1743 'il Cannone' violin, Niccolò Paganini's favorite instrument. Alberto studied in Cremona under Vincenzo Bissolotti (b. 1958), Wanna Zambelli (b. 1953), and Stefano Conia (b. 1946), graduating in 1984. He further apprenticed with Sesto Rocchi (1909—1991) and traveled to the USA, attending the workshops of Joseph Curtin (b. 1953) and Gregg Alf (b. 1957). In March 2015, Alberto Giordano received his Master's degree in History of Art with honors from the University of Genoa.
