An R&B singer from Long Beach, California who started his career signing for Effie Smith’s undefined label. Her son Fred Smith worked with Alex on his single Make The Best of What You Got (1965).
Local record producer James McEachin, prior to him becoming a Hollywood actor, was assigned to a session at Capitol records. Three songs were cut, No More Dreams, A ‘Lil Lovin Sometimes and True Love.
Northern Soul DJ Kev Roberts discovered the whereabouts of Alex and his Soultrip USA 2004 performance was reported as legendary to say the least. He came to the UK off the back of his new found fan base.
In between the few recordings he made, Alex was a boxing promoter and part time actor. He had a small role in [m178365] film
