    Born in 1961. Studied at the Leningrad Conservatory (now St. Petersburg Conservatory) in viola, quartet and chamber ensemble.
    Even in his last year at the conservatory in 1985, A. Popov was invited to the Rimsky-Korsakov Quartet, where he serves to this day.
