Alexis Zoumbas

Aléxis Zoúmpas or "Létsios" was a Greek folk violinist. Born 29 September 1983 (or 1985) (or 17 January 1980) in Grammeno, Ioannina, Greece - Died 7 February 1947 (or 1946) in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. (or in 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.)
In the beginning of the 20th century, he moved to Ioannina. On 7 October 1916, he arrived in the U.S., heading to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where we meet him as a simple worker in 1918. Before 1921, he moved to New York City, New York looking for a job as a musician. In the 1920s, he collaborated with Κα Κούλα, Αμαλία Μπάκα, and Marika Papagika. He did several recordings on Victor, Victor, and Victor. In 1928, immediately after these recordings, he made a short trip to his hometown. On 9 August 1928, he returned to New York City. By the end of 1941, he moved to Chicago, Illinois and in 1943 he went to Detroit, Michigan, where he died.
