Swedish rock singer, born on May 3, 1968 in Jukkasjärvi, Kiruna, Lappland and died on January 23, 2024 in 'Hedemora, Husby och Garpenbergs församling' (Hedemora, Husby and Garpenberg Parish of the Church of Sweden), Hedemora, Dalarna.
Sandberg, who is best known as Dagger of the band Rednex, began his musical career in the hard rock band 'Arch' in 1985, which in 1987 reached the final of 'Rock-SM' (the Swedish Rock Championship). In that competition Sandberg won the prize as best singer, but despite that success the band was disbanded two years later, in 1989.
In 1990, Sandberg won the Swedish Karaoke Championships, with his own version of [r423584]. In 1991 and 1992, he was active in a Norwegian band, 'Why For You', and 1994-1995 in the Europop project Accagas from Norrland, that band released the single [m101470] which was on the official CD for the 1995 World Championships in Athletics at Ullevi, Gothenburg. In 1996, he participated in a nationwide competition for best Swedish copy of Elvis Presley. Sandberg competed with his version of [r3710215] and came in second place. From 1996 to 1998, Sandberg participated in a new Europop project called Approx, where he participated and sang on the single [m939275], which was released in 1998.
In 2001, Sandberg became a member of Rednex and participated on the singles [r134990] and [m88902] and the full-length album [m200469], before leaving the band in 2006.
In 2003, while in Rednex, he also released the single 'Thanks For Lovin' Me', with the Russian project Tourex, a song which is included on several Russian compilation albums and became a minor hit in Russia.
From the turn of the year 2008/2009, Sandberg was back as a member of Rednex and he has participated on the single [m403469], which Rednex released for free on 'The Pirate Bay' as a download.
Anders Sandberg was still a member of Rednex when he passed away at age 55 in 2024.
