About

Archigram was a Parisian electronic music duo consisting of Julien Mallart (aka Jean Morris) and Nicolas Trichet (aka Archyp).

Their musical style has been described as dark, rock-infused house music, blending energetic guitars with cold keyboards while maintaining a club atmosphere. Archigram debuted on Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo's (of Daft Punk) label Crydamoure in 2001 with the release of their single "Mad Joe 12." They followed up with "Carnaval" in 2002 and "Doggystyle" in 2003, a cover of The Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog," both released on the same label. They also released "Padre" on the Kitsuné label in 2004. Although an album was planned, it was never released.
The name of the band comes from the influential 60s/70s avant-garde British architectural group "Archigram", which itself is the contraction of the terms "architecture" and "telegram" (Nicolas Trichet worked in an architecture firm prior to the formation of the band).
