The artist Arild Andersen Group refers to two different bands in Arild Andersen's oeuvre. It was the group name Arild Andersen used in 2004 for the commissioned work for the commissioned work "Electra", made for the Cultural Olympiad in connection to the Athens Olympics in Greece. At the Vossa Jazz festival, on March 23rd, 2018, Arild Andersen launched his then new quartet. In 2019 he insisted that this new band should be denoted as Arild Andersen Group, partly to delimit it from his former band, the Arild Andersen Quartet. In 2020 and 2022 the new quartet toured extensively, and it released its first album on ECM in 2022.
