Walters is best known musically under alias Asher D for his work with group So Solid Crew, a grime/garage collective from the nearby Battersea area of South London, who had a hit track with "21 Seconds" (2001).
Having attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School in his youth, latterly he is better known as a leading actor under his full name, Ashley Walters, with roles starring in several London-based films including "Bullet Boy" (2004), "Sugarhouse" (2007), and most recently as leading character in the long-running Channel 4 then Channel 4 international TV series "Top Boy" (2011-2023).
