Asphyxiate

About

Asphyxiate was born to this brutal pit in July 1998. Hailing from Bekasi, Indonesia, it was started by the initial formation of Josh (Guitars), Dhana (Bass & Vox) and Reno (Drums). In November 1998, Indra joined the horde handling bass so Dhana could concentrate on his vocals. With this formation, Asphyxiate played a few original songs and some covers from Death Metal gods such as Suffocation, Deeds of Flesh (old), Cryptopsy (old), etc.

In mid 1999, Deaddy joined to handle guitars. Sadly, Dhana got into an accident and passed away. Therefore, the band decided to search for a substitute, and soon, they were introduced to Heru who helped with additional vocals.

In early August 2002, Heru was forced to leave the band. Temporarily, Josh took over the vocals for their debut album "The Process Of Mutilation", released by Undying Music (Indonesia), which was then re-released by Despise The Sun Records (Italy). To add, Asphyxiate also appeared on some local and international compilation albums. By the end of 2003, the band agreed on having just one guitarist and Deaddy, instead, took over the vocals for Asphyxiate.

Another accident struck the band again in early 2005, which forced some formation changes, with the entry of Atenk (Drums) and Erik (Bass). Unfortunately this didn't last, and as a result, the band were glad to have Reno and Indra back to join. In September 2007, again, Indra left and Adi joined. The band played lots of shows and toured with both local and international Death Metal bands.

The band finished writing new material for their upcoming new album, and planned to be release it in early 2009. That same year, the band signed with two International Labels: Despise The Sun Records (Italy) and Sevared Records (USA) for their second album "Anatomy Of Perfect Bestiality", this co-production signing would be a great step for Asphyxiate.

After passing through 14 years of brutal journey with us, finally Reno and Deaddy decided to resign from the band due to their work.

In 2013, the band joined forces with brutal music label New Standard Elite (USA) and released an album titled "Self Transform From Decayed Flesh".
