Atole

About

Atole started as a solo project of Manny Reyes in Las Vegas 1998. By 2000, he'd moved to Portland and performed by singing over sychronized backing tracks played on four boomboxes placed around him and his standing audience. In 2008, problems with his boombox setup led him to reinvent Atole as himself on synth and vocals, Tim Ferrell programming beats, and Howard Gilliam on synthesizer. Gilliam left and drummer Mike Conroy joined in Aug 2008. Marius Libman joined on bass in 2009. Mike left after recording sessions in 2009, and was replaced by Jacob Soto, with Sarah Gottesdiener being added on vocals and percussion in 2010.
