    Finnish writer, actor and songwriter, best known as singer, born July 19, 1944 in Karvia. She made her debut with the novel Hevosen kuolema ("The Horse's Death", 1966). Her best-known book is the lyrical-realistic upbringing and development novel Isosisko ja pikkuveli (1973) about Aino's journey to the big city. She was awarded the Runeberg Prize in 1991 for Henkivartija.
