Metal band from Söderdala, Sweden, formed in 1988 as Morbid Fear. After recording a thrash metal demo titled “Darkest Age”, the band changed their style to death metal and their name to Authorize, because of the similarity of their old moniker to Morbid Angel. After few more gigs (one with Therion and Crematory – from Sweden, not the German band), the band puts “Darkest Age” song, nicely rearranged, shortened and re-mixed on a split EP, released by Opinionate! Records in 1990, featuring other Swedish bands like Nirvana 2002, Appendix and Fallen Angel. The band got then a contract from Putrefaction Records to do an album, so Authorize entered FS Studios in January 1991 and a debut full length titled “The Source of Damnation” was born. However, right after this CD the band just split up.
