About

The Bach-Collegium Stuttgart was a group of freelance musicians, founded in 1965 by Helmuth Rilling to accompany the choir Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart. To avoid being restricted to a particular style, the players used modern instruments, while taking account of what is known about period performance practice.
In 2016 the Bach-Collegium was merged into the newly found baroque ensemble Gaechinger Cantorey.
