Barbara Sullivan

Barbara Sullivan is/was the lead singer of the vocal groups:
Barbara J & The Silver Slippers, The Sweethearts, and Lovables.

Barbara was born in Augusta, GA, but moved to New York when she was two. She was inspired by her mom, who sang in church. All the Sullivans sang in church, including Shirley Sullivan and four brothers. Outside of church, the family sang at community center shows.

At the age of 12, Barbara received voice training and studied piano for three years. During this period she remained active, singing in school choirs and securing the lead role in an operetta.
A career in nursing was considered, but the singing bug was strong.

Now goes by her married name, Barbara Butler, and is, for the most part, retired.
